Watchdog to check Sheremetyevo safety after plane hits person

MOSCOW, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- The Federal Service for Transport Oversight will hold an unscheduled safety check of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport after a plane killed a man on a landing strip, an official of the authority told PRIME on Wednesday.

“We will hold an unscheduled investigation of the airline safety service and the airport activities organization service of the Sheremetyevo airport,” the official said.

A taking off jet hit a man on a landing strip in the airport, reportedly an Armenian citizen deported from Spain. A criminal case was initiated.
